How to recognize the voice of my higher self
Question: What is the distinctive feature between the voice of my I AM Presence and the voice of Jesus? By what criteria can I perceive this difference? How do I realize that it is not my imagination at all? I have a very strong mentality, and it is almost like because of this, I do not trust my intuition, as I question everything about my feelings, foreboding and a lot of self-doubt.

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2024 New Year webinar

Well, when you are very focused in the mental mind, it is almost meaningless to talk about the difference between the voice of your I AM Presence and the voice of Jesus. Because the first thing you need to do is deal with this focus on the mental mind. This is, of course, a very common problem in the modern age, because society has become so reliant on what we call the analytical, linear, rational, logical mind instead of helping people develop a balance between the rational mind and the intuitive mind, between intuition and reasoning.

The fact that you are open to spiritual teaching shows that you have intuition. You have to use our tools for resolving the subconscious selves. Because it is not simply that the rational mind makes you doubt. As we have explained, the intellectual rational mind can argue for or against any issue. This is what gives you the basis for doubt, that you can say: “Well, is it really the voice of my I Am Presence? Is it my intuition? Or is it some other source that it is coming from?” But it is not the rational mind itself that creates the doubt, it is the separate self.

And the fallen beings are very clever at targeting spiritual people and exposing them to situations where they create a subconscious self that makes you doubt yourself. Because you feel you have made such a terrible mistake, and you should not have done this. And now you do not really know how you can avoid this in the future. And some people become so paralyzed that they refuse making decisions. And some people go in another direction and reach for some kind of source that can tell them what is the infallible thing to do in every situation.

But this is just a self, or rather separate self, two selves, at least, that are created in a specific situation. And you need to discover those selves, look at them, see the illusion they were based on, and dissolve them. And one very common reaction, and I am not trying to say that everybody has the exact same belief, but one very common belief in this context is that you have created a self that says: “I cannot make the right decisions by myself. I am not capable of making the right decisions.” This blocks you from daring to make decisions, daring to experiment. But if you look at this self, you will see that there is a deeper self that has the belief that there are right decisions and wrong decisions.

And this is, as we have said, the fallen beings created the standard and said everything should be compared to the standard. Everything, every decision should be evaluated based on was it right in an ultimate sense, was it wrong in an ultimate sense. And these are the selves you need to look at and dismiss them and say: “This is unreal, this is just an illusion. I am a co-creator. I have been given free will because I learned by experimenting.” And it is not a matter of saying choices were right or wrong. It is a matter of realizing that any choice can help you learn, can help you grow, can help you expand your sense of self. This is what you need to, first of all, work with. Why are you so focused on the mental mind and what is it, what separate selves do you have related to making your own decisions? And instead of evaluating the consequences based on right and wrong, saying: ”How can I learn from this? How can I grow from this? How can I turn it into a positive experience?” Now, in terms of the difference between the voice of Jesus and your I AM Presence, well, Jesus is an ascended master who is outside of you.

And we have said this in the Korean conference where we talked about connecting to your spiritual teachers and your higher self. An ascended master will always be perceived as being outside of yourself. This is a voice that comes from the outside. Your I AM Presence, however, is not outside yourself. It is actually who you are. You are an extension of it. The voice of your I AM Presence comes from inside yourself and it often does not even come as a grueling voice from heaven. It comes from this still small voice within that often is not really words but a sensation, a frame of reference. Again, you can look at the dictations from the Korean conference that are in the new book and there is more teachings on this.
