About the interplay between the Conscious You and the I AM Presence
Question: Mother Mary, please give us a sense of how the I AM Presence experiences current events.
Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2023 Kazakhstan Conference.
Well, you need to be careful here. What we have said and which some have not really realized or fully acknowledged is that the I AM Presence is not an ascended being. I know very well that if you said this to students of previous ascended master dispensations, they would object to it, because in those dispensations they had the view that the I AM Presence is in the spiritual realm, therefore the I AM Presence is perfect, and they did not really have a clear view of what it means that you ascend, partly because they did not have the concept of the Conscious You that we have given.
They tended to sometimes look at the I AM Presence as an ascended master, but your particular I AM Presence is an unascended being until you ascend, and this means that the I AM Presence does not have the same view that an ascended master has. An ascended master has ascended by overcoming any kind of attachment to certain conditions on earth, but your I AM Presence is not ascended, does not have the same view, and can in fact have a certain attachment to conditions on earth that the Conscious You then helps the I AM Presence overcome as the Conscious You moves closer to the 144th level. Your I AM Presence can still have a certain, what we might say bias, a certain mental image of what earth should be like. And part of the reason that the I AM Presence sent the Conscious You into embodiment was to raise its awareness and overcome that kind of bias. For example, we have said that some avatars came to earth because they had not grasped the fullness of free will and they wanted to grasp it.
This is the I AM Presence desiring to experience life on an unnatural planet in order to fully grasp the significance of free will. There are many other examples, of course. Your I AM Presence does not necessarily look at current events with the same neutrality as an ascended master does. As ascended masters we have transcended all bias on earth. This is one of the greatest difficulties for ascended master students. If you can look at it today in this dispensation, but it was much more prominent in previous dispensations. Where, just to give you an example, you see that the I AM Movement and the Summit Lighthouse were started in the United States, and even if you read the dictations you can clearly see that the dictations are much more focused on the United States and the importance of the United States. And this means that many students projected upon the ascended masters that we thought the United States was the most important nation in the world. But as we have explained through this messenger, this is not actually the way we look at it.
Of course, we see the United States as an important nation, but the concept of ‘the’ most important nation is really meaningless at the ascended level. We are always looking at how can we use people in various nations to help raise the collective consciousness and bring forth some new idea or invention. It is not a matter of raising one nation up to be the savior of the world. That is not how we look at it.
What I am saying here is that the students in America in previous dispensations had a national bias that they projected upon the ascended masters. And some have even become critical of this messenger because he does not have the same bias and therefore, they feel that he is not in touch with the real masters because they obviously would see the United States as the most important. There are even students in Russia who look at this messenger and some of the things we have said through him and say that an ascended master would never say that about Russia because they are projecting that the ascended masters think Russia is as important as these students think. This is always one of the challenges for an ascended master student when you reach the higher levels to look at your personal bias and to not project that upon the ascended masters.
But in terms of the question of the I AM Presence, the I AM Presence can still have a certain bias. There are people whose I AM Presence has a certain national bias for the United States, for Russia or for other nations because the Conscious You has for many lifetimes embodied in a certain nation and this can affect how the I AM Presence looks at it. As you rise, as the Conscious You rises towards the 144th level, it is part of the process that you become more aware of these biases you have and yet you begin to question them. You will not ascend as an American or as a Russian. Jesus many years ago when the Ask Real Jesus website was new, answered a question on homosexuality by saying there are no homosexuals in heaven and you could say there are no Americans in heaven, there are no Russians in heaven, there are no Catholics in heaven, there are no Buddhists in heaven.
Because in order to ascend you have to transcend all of the labels, the biases that you find on earth. You have to recognize that you are a universal spiritual being. Take Jesus’ dictation about the Christ consciousness. He was essentially saying that the Christ consciousness is universal and cannot be forced into any bias. Clearly in order to ascend you have to unite with the Christ consciousness and you can only do that by becoming universal, unbiased, neutral. That is why we so often stress the need to strive to be in a neutral state of mind.
Now we can also add to this that there is a tendency among ascended master students to say that: “The I AM Presence has it all figured out, the I AM Presence is in the spiritual realm and I am just an extension of that and I am not really helping my I AM Presence.” Even in this dispensation when you have the concept of the Conscious You, many people think that the Conscious You is not really helping the I AM Presence because the I AM Presence already knows everything it needs to know.
But that is not the case. If the I AM Presence knew everything it would not need to send the Conscious You into embodiment. There is an interchange between the I AM Presence and the Conscious You. There is a figure eight flow and we have said before that your experiences go into your causal body. But what is it that happens before this goes into the causal body? It is that the I AM Presence looks at the experience of the Conscious You and processes that experience and thereby expands its sense of self, raises its awareness. This means that the Conscious You can help the I AM Presence see certain things that the I AM Presence cannot as easily see from the ascended level but that you can see because you are down here dealing with these conditions. There is an interplay between the Conscious You and the I AM Presence—and the Conscious You, especially when you are going to this neutral state of mind, can actually help the I AM Presence see certain things, process certain experiences and therefore raise its consciousness.
